    Hi All

I have a general UK shopping site that I am going to add to the Yahoo! Directory. I just wondered if there were any experts out there that had any advice on where it would be best to submit the site, as there are both US and UK directories. These are the locations I am considering:

    http://uk.dir.yahoo.com/Business_and...l_Merchandise/

    http://uk.dir.yahoo.com/Regional/Cou...l_Merchandise/

    http://dir.yahoo.com/Regional/Countr...l_Merchandise/

    Any comments/thoughts/tips appreciated.

    Cheers

Im no expert, but I guess the best advice would be to consider where would you look for your services?
Would you beneift from being lited in the US version or are your services geographically restrcited to the UK? If so, then listing in the US amy be throughwing your money away.
Also, from an SEO point of view, a listing in the US version may give you higher pageRank, but listing in the UK could give you a better authoritative link.

Doesn't the data get replicated between the UK and US versions?

Anyway - the most accurate category is the UK one. However, in my view Yahoo is a waste of money.

I'd agree with that - submit your site to the free section and just forget about it after that.

Referrals really are minimal unless you are in a very, very competitive niche. (from my experience anyway).

    Hi,

I think he means to submit it to the free directory.

If so you want to think that if your name does not begin with '1' then you are not going to be very high in the listings.
