Just wondered if signing up for Adsense increases your Google PR or is that a seperate issue?

Adsense and adwords wont help you getting the high PR.... content is the king and back links (one way) from provides you the extra space to grab the high PR... last PR update was on the basis of the kind of content you have... so get the fresh and unique content (that matches the theme of the site and the page) and get the high PR... PR plays important role in getting visitors but most of the time in indirect way...

No its a totally seperate issue, signing for adsense will not increase your PR rating.

Only quality inbound links from other websites with PR will increase your PR rating.

Your site will get visit by the Adsense robot, though, whose results are now being used by Google, apparently.

Separate issue. AdSense is Google's advertising business. And PR is a system of ranking that aims at lurking people into complying with Google's rules.
