The Google Dance

Many of you will already be familiar with the Google dance. If you haven’t a clue what I am talking about then please go and read this article: Google Dance

Over the past 6 or 7 weeks there have been some major changes on certain datacentres. Some of the results on these DC’s have been very interesting to say the least.

So why is this of any interest to you?

We don’t actually know if the new results will propagate across all of the datacentres, if they do then your current SERPS may be about to radically change. For some of you this could be great news, for others it may be terrible, but it is worth keeping an eye on.

To see the results you will need to use the Mcdar keyword tool

Here is a simple way to see if these new results could have any effect on your future SERPS.

Step 1: go to google.com and type in one of your main keywords. Make a note of your exact position and then try the search again using this datacentre: 64.233.161.107

notice any difference?

If you see a big difference then it may be worth keeping an eye on the 56 datacentres from Google. Currently the new results are on approx 18 of the 56 datacentres. I should point out that at this moment in time we don’t know exactly how important this new information is. There are no guarantees that we will EVER see the new results on all of the live searches, and some experts also believe that a filter MAY be missing on the new results.

Personally I would get 3 or 4 times as much traffic if the new results propagate to all the live datacentres. So all I can do is monitor the results and keep my fingers crossed.
