The cache refresh is certainly not as regular as it used to be - every 2/3 days - mine are averaging out at 10/14 days now.
Has anyone noticed how long page changes take to take effect now after changing a load of page content/title tag/keyword density etc?
I'm not talking about when a page pops up or down a positition or 2 every other day but when the true effect bites of a major page alteration.
In old days it would show with freshdate but now it takes longer.
Any ideas on times, is it a few days delay or only at major updates?
Cheers
Aly

Yup, noticed changes in that but really more wondering when the freshdate change that is shown, takes "effect" on positions. I'm struggling to make a page alter position - one way or another. So unless Google no longer take into account content/words/title/ change then there is a delay in it taking effect. In old, old days we had the monthly update - then we had the change in 48 hours period and now.......?Originally Posted by Elaine

Changes could be daily.
ehosting.com just launched and its achieving 2nd position on page two of Google UK for the term "VPS hosting"
The new website and VPS service went live on Friday, started getting organic traffic from Google Saturday. I was surprised how quick Google updated.
How often do the Google spiders visit your website?
What keywords are you targeting?
that's what I mean - within that 10/14 day period any SEO changes I've made will then take affect - hopefully, fingers crossed, in the right direction - if not - more changes - none of us - SEO'ers and PPC'ers can afford to just sit back and do nowt - it's hard work.

Thats a good result timewise, though I have noticed niche or non-word terns (eg:VPS) will jump a lot easier and quicker.

Sorry, I had misunderstood you there Elaine.
Have to hang about for a bit then to see what happens. I used to keep a note of things and also watch a lot more than I do now.
Need more hours in the day![]()

Yes the caching of pages is really slow on google now. It was hard to compete for one product so hardly bothered with it in the end, nevermind.
