I was wondering if there is anyway to use google adsense search in conjunction with affiliate networks. For eample, someone does a google search on your site and if one of the search results is for a supplier who you have an affiliate relationship it allows the user to click on an affiliate link in preference to the adsense link.

If not with google is this possible with any other service? My technical expertise is pretty high so I'm not bothered if it requires a bit of advanced scripting.

Fiddling with Adsense results to integrate your own links would most definitely be against their Terms and Conditions and would most likely result in your account being suspended.
Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.

If ignorance is bliss then some of the people I know must be orgasmic.

We all want to take the cream off the top, but you cant pick and choose. You are not allowed to mess around with the results returned, if you read your agreement with google it even tells you.

You can always filter out certain sites so that affiliates don't appear in your Adsense ads.

If I altered the link to click through both via adsense and also to the affiliate network cookie system I don't see how they could have a problem because they would still get the same money from the adword advertisers and it would look the same from the user's point of view. I agree though its probably in breach of their terms and conditions anyway.

I have seen sites doing this via Yahoo/Overture search though. I don't know if they have some special agreement with Yahoo or whether its default capability.

pollensa - The filtering idea sounds good, could you point me in the right direction?

I can't believe i am even hearing this, Google may not have a problem but people like you are probably one of the reasons why conversion rates or ROI is so low with adsense sites compared to google CPC results on their own pages.

Just access 'Adsense Set Up' & then 'Competitive Ad Filter'

    As it states:
"The Competitive Ad Filter enables you to block specific ads, such as competitors' ads, from appearing on your pages. "

    so all above board!

I don't understand your argument really, I'm just trying to find a way to combine the search results from google with the PPC/Search element and the affiliate/cookie element. I don't see what its got to do with conversion rates

Thanks Pollensa, I'll look into that
