What's the quickest your site has been indexed?

I can't believe it! I loaded a completely new site at about 10:30AM this morning. Then just thought I'd just check if it was in Google yet - thinking that I'm wasting my time and saw that the cashed date and time was 30 Jul 2006 17:16:47 GMT (18:16 BST).

So within 8 hours of going live it was crawled and then less than another 4 hours it was "indexed".

It's not ranking well because I hadn't "optimised" it. But, chuffing heck!

What's the quickest you've had a site indexed? - Not showing off, just want to know what Google's upto at the moment.

A site of mine was recently crawled about 5/6 hours from going live.

How are they getting indexed so quickly are you linking off some of your other sites? forum posts? blogs etc.

Just thinking ahead for when we rebrand our site with new domain new look etc. (we are finally on track now)

A few hours, then the site disappeared before reappearing a few days later! I made sure that my other sites linked to it.

OK - I AM showing off - banged a brand new page up saturday lunchtime - and it's now showing at the top of Google - 1, 2 or 3 for lots of major keywords - above ELC, ToysRus and Amazon

It's amazing at the moment. They giveth with one hand and taketh with the other.

I still contend that in general if you've got a site with shed loads of unique content and appear to be an authority on your subject that they'll still rank you highly.
