I'm pretty sure Google will only offer you some degree of protection if it is a Registered Trademark that you own that you want people to stop bidding on.
Anyone know if I can automatically stop everyone who is targeting my site
with their AdWords ads?
Not permanently, but just have it so all that are doing now have to re-set it.
TIA.

I'm not talking about any word or trademark, I'm talking about people who
are specifically targeting my site to display their ads on.

Thanks, I already knew that.
I just want a quick way of stopping everyone who is specifically targeting me.
Not permanently, just want to wipe everyone off so they have to start again.
Would also be nice to know who is targeting my site, any idea if we can find
out who all the people are who are doing it?

as far as I know theres no way of finding out whos specifically asking for google to show ads on your site or weather its just a general keyword type match.
any particular reason that your trying to do this, block it for a bit but not permanently? just thinking theres probably a bodge for it

Main reason I want to stop people targeting my site is the fact that people
who know how to are probably aff marketers.
I would rather have Jo Blogs who knows very little about AdWords advertising
on my site than aff marketers who are probably paying lower click rates.
It will also stop the CPM's and I want to see if it makes much difference.
I know I can switch off Onsite Advertiser Sign-Up, but not sure if this deletes
the people who are targeting me, or if they will be automatically re-instated
when I switch it on again.

ah I see, fair play.
All I can suggest is seeing which ads appear and adding them to the competator list one by one, a bit tedious though. Guess it depends how much traffic the site has, how much adsense makes you and how much you get from sales - value of a visitor kind of thing.

Personally I wouldn't bother - the percentage of revenue that Google shares with you is not fixed so even if you got advertisers who were paying more there is absolutely no guarantee that your adsense revenue would go up.
Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.
If ignorance is bliss then some of the people I know must be orgasmic.
Yeah, you're probably right.
I don't do much Adsense anyway only about $80 a day so probably wouldn't
even notice any changes. Just playing around really, would be interesting to
know how many people disable the Onsite Advertiser Sign-Up.
I can't remember now whether it is on or off by default, any idea?
Also, how can you tell if anyone is running CPM ads on your site?

With regards the original question, as I understand it, the normal rules still apply with regards payments & relevence between targetted and random ads. Ie: if someone requests to advertise on your site specifically, they still have to cough up more money than the next person or they won't appear.
As for CPM people - not aware you can find out as such, but lookout for anyone running banner ads as those seem to be the only ones allowed to run on the CPM system.
I've seen a few people on our sites who I suspect have requested to be there specifically as there's only 1 ad unit whereas normally we have 4, but they are normally very large companies and I suspect have big budgets.
