I setup a new campaign today and straight away the minimum bid value for all of the keywords went to £5.50. They're not even very competitive terms.

The landing page is brand new, so the Adwords bot hasn't even visited to check the quality score. Has anyone else seen this happening?

It's getting so hard to work with Adwords these days; it makes me want to give up on it altogether.

No, I'd done PPC on this site before but shut it down before the Google wipeout.

What really winds me up is their double standards. I'm still seeing adverts with landing pages full of overture paid search links. How do they justify that?

Have just been shafted in exact same manner. 5.50GBP on keywords that only yield a 40 p epc. Funny thing is I got exactly the same keywords running in another campaing set up about 1 year ago.....now thats double standards!

    ******s!

    Hi,

When I started with Adsense it was low (minimum bid was around 15p)...But every single day I keep having to raise it by about 10p.

It is starting to cost a lot, I recommend trying Splut. I use them as well and they are very good and cheap. But you wont get a huge amount of clicks.

Well I've been very circumspect and fortunate.

About to launch an AdWords campaign....as a "merchant". It's as an authorised reseller and distributor for an overseas company and I got my CPC down to as low as 3p for certain key phrases

Yet if I advertised the exact same thing as an affiliate through their affiliate scheme it would be much higher and the irony is a reseller is on about the same commission as an affiliate.

It just means that I am going to have to pick and choose very carefully what I intend to promote via AdWords.

I'm new too this adwords thing,

I set-up a campaign yesterday, it tells me the minimum CPC is 6p so I try it a 6p all was fine, a steady flo of traffic, today nothing, my ads arent even showing, I tried upping the CPC to 15p 4 hours later still nothing,

checking the competition for the terms I cant see that they would be paying more per click than I am, but no doubt they spend a lot on other campaigns,

On some keywords there are only 2 ads displayed(not mine)

    aaaggh my head hurts,

The Diagnostic Tool in the 'Tools' section should tell you why the ads aren't working.

In fairness the Adwords help system is pretty good (even though their affiliate clamp downs arent) so you can usually find an answer in there.

i did the ad diagnotic and it tells me that the CTR is to low which is why they're not being shown

not sure how they figure the CTR on ads they won even show, lol.

guess its another 1 of those mysteries of life
