    Hi

    Ive got a google adwords pre pay account and it has funds in it! but google have suspended the ads today saying account balance over run!

    Is anyone else having problems with adwords today?


    Good old Google no one is at home till monday morning

    Update!

    Just spoken to google and they say that the billing system has an issue! and it could take 2 - 3 days to fix! & any new funds to trigger the system!



    So they have my money & i have no ads!..... cheers!

    wish i'd read this earlier, just telephoned both my card providers and re-entered the card details in adwords surely they should let us know if there is a problem with billing at their end oh and mine isnt prepay, and at least the ads are still running for now

    I've had exactly the same problem Keith. I've tried entering several new card details and they were all declined.

    Looks like they've now set the ads running again without managing to take payment.

    I've just spoken to our account manager at Google and they confirmed that no ads were served today on our account until around 3.30 due to the problems with their billing system. Some of our ads are still not being served on keyword high volume / high CTR keywords for no logical reason (the ad diagnostic tool is either saying we have no ads which match the keyword our estimated CTR is not high enough - on keywords that have a 28% CTR!). There are clearly ongoing issues with Google at the moment as the whole quality score debacle has still not been addressed adequately either. I would suggest that anyone who has had their card declined today / experienced problems also check that their main keywords are being served using the diagnostic tool as the two problems could be related.

    Well I posted in the forum last week or so, for help as I could not get my ads to serve. My account was displaying as active including all ads. In the end I found out it was Google's billing system which took out 4 activation fees from my card and was complaining there was a problem with the payment.

    Google never told me what was going on either. After 3 days of faffing around trying to understand what was wrong they decided to ask for my card details again. Well its working now and fortunately I haven't had any problems today.

    Why would you have a pre-pay acount?

    Simple answer really! and a bit boring

    When i set up my business current account at the same time i took out a company credit card but my bank manager sent the form to the wrong address and it took nearly a month to get it found and then set up so this was the only reason.

    yeh had this earlier - thought it was a Gov't conspiracy against me! I thought I was the Enemy of the State or something!

    Sad, but true I assure you.
    Needless to say, my accounts are elsewhere.

    adwords has accepted my original card this morning, lets see if they manage to take a payment

    even though they said the account wasn't suspended it must have been on trickle as spend yesterday was down by 90%

    My account's been unaffected, but yesterday I had my best ever non-christmas day. I wonder if its down to a wee bit less in the way of competition?

    My profit went up by about 30%.

    I had this problem too and was just about to call the bank and see what the problem is! I'll wait a while now and see what happens next.
