Not sure where I heard it but it seems that Google are giving a higher PR to pages which contain valid HTML. I validate my markup as often as I can.

Problem is that the banner code direct from CJ , TD or AW results in many errors from the W3C Markup Validation Service.

Any ideas on how to use the banner coding and still keep a fully valid page?

    Hi there.

Google Page Rank is a result of the page rank of websites which link to your site. So, if you have ten inbound links (IBL's) from websites each with a page rank of say 4/10, you'll maybe end up with page rnak 1/10. Or, if your ten IBL's are from sites with a page rank of 6/10, you'll maybe end up with a page rank of 3/10. Page rank is a voting system, the higher the page rank, the stronger the vote. It has nothing to do with validation.

Also, validation has nothing to do with your results in the search engines.

Personally, i don't worry about Google page rank or W3C validation, as neithert of them affect your ranking. And ranking is what it's all about.

    hope this helps

    Hi Hawkwind Dave

    Thanks for your post.

Are you saying that the single most factor in determining a good Google PR is obtaining quality Inbound Links? I thought that keyword optimization was as important?
