    Hi all,

In Google when we check the links to our home page it lists nothing but we know for a fact that we have loads of links out there.

Can anyone give us some advice on where we are going wrong, there is an example link below:

    http://www.getmeaticket.co.uk/?partner=6

    Cheers

    Hi Jon,

Thanks for having a look for us.

Its really wierd if i search for other sites it works fine but in the url that google generates i have to put a space before www.getmeaticket.co.uk before it lists all of our links..........very strange.

    Cheers
    Stacey.

Google doesn't show all your backlinks. It's better to look for them in Yahoo. Example:

    linkdomain:yourdomain.com

Apparantly, Google only shows around 10% of the links to your page (read that in a book about seo) plus if you have any links from sites which aren't indexed than they are pretty much useless unless they're sending you lots of traffic. Hope this helps

    Hi,

I've had similar problems with rankings etc with SE's. I think it also depends on which Data Centre you connect to when you do your search.

    use Yahoo or Msn.

Google focuses more on a small random sample of mainly one way links to your site. Ignore Google for links.

    You could go here
    http://www.marketleap.com/publinkpop/
not any help with google links, but you will get an overview from the rest

Google does not show links that they consider 'worthless' but your links are there; hidden in googlecyberland. Strange but somedays you see 1000 links in google...next day 10? Next day 0.

High PR links 'nearly' always stay stable and show.

Jon, you have the syntax wrong. Don't add any spaces. Your search results are far from what you think they are.

Using a space between link: and the domain name breaks the "special" syntax. The query MUST be of the form link:www.domain.com

The reason you see so few is that you have very few links that Google consider to be "quality" - you need to expend some time and / or effort to improve your linking stragey, I think.

Its my understanding the google only reports backlinks when the linking site (not yours) has a PR of 4 or above.
