I have Adsense on the homepage of my site, but I am so frightened of where I advertise, (you just never know whats right or wrong with them lately!) I barely do any other than PPC, which can work out expensive at times.

I am thinking of removing it and just leaving it on inner pages of the site. I only make about a $1-2 a day from the homepage anyway. Just after people's opinions if they think its a good idea to sacrifice this small amount, in order to do more advertising - (wherever I like and not what Google tell me, which they are usually very vague about anyway) - and hopefully fetch in more sales? And will I be ok to send whatever traffic I like to the homepage and still be safe having Google ads on inner pages?

    Thoughts and opinions appreciated

Look into phpAdsNew. Load your AdSense through phpAdsNew invocation code to control impressions. Google might frown upon sudden influxes or 'invalid impressions' (whatever they may be). By setting phpAdsNew to only show your AdSense code once to the same visitor, or only once every 120 seconds, you take away almost all the risks.

By combining it with IP to location databases, you can exclude AdSense from being viewed by 'dodgy' countries.

You can even set max daily impressions. Set it to your average + 10% so that if you get Dugg for example, AdSense automatically gets killed atthe treshold, rather than causing red flags at the GooglePlex.

For any serious AdSense publishers, I highly recommend ad delivery management via phpAdsNew.

I tried using phpadsnew around two years ago and it was painfully, painfully slow in loading pages in which the adverts were embedded in. Has it improved much since?

We use it on our sites to distribute ads and it loads as one would expect. I guess it depends on your server as well - we've got a dedicated server in a top notch datacentre with a wide pipe.

hmm... not so sure about using phpAdsNew... you can guarantee any skirting around Google, with any whiff of controversy beyond the rules they make up as they go along , and they ain't going to like it. But if anyone can give any other opinions on my original queries that would be great

I am bored with Google full stop. I think their is enough expertise and people to make a differance to google if we either clubbed together used another provider or set one up and used it (not too sure on the latter though)

I don't quite understand why you're so paranoid about Google - it is well within their terms and conditions to display adsense ads on the same page as other ads, and certainly on the same site - you just can't display other contextual ads the same as Adsense.

Yes you can get bumped off the Adsense programme for fraudulent clicks but whether you've got just Adsense on your site or Adsense and other ads makes no difference as far as I can see to the likelihood of that happening.
Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.

If ignorance is bliss then some of the people I know must be orgasmic.

I'm not paranoid - I just like to excercise a little caution when dealing with Adsense - they are very cagey on what they will and won't allow, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that software, but it could be construed by god almighty Google that you are trying to conceal or filter site impressions and clicks.

I suppose the only way to find out for sure is to write to them and ask them

If you can sell ads directly to merchants then the company I work for can offer a solution. Don't know if this is of any help but contact me if it could be of interest .
