Is it me or has google changed the way it formats listings? I've only noticed this on two of my sites (probably because they both have two thousand odd pages updated daily and the others don't have half as many).
Before Google use to index <TITLE> and meta description... right (!?) now it seems to be indexing <TITLE> and the first written sentence on each page. This is new, right? or have I just not noticed before?

Not complaining, has done wonders for my positioning on Google.

Hi Lynx. You'll find that what appears in the results can vary. They will generally use the page title and the part of the text that contains the information that was searched for. If this is in the meta's they will show that text. Sometimes they use the odp listing and sometimes they don't show anything. If you do two different searches that bring up the same page, you may find different formats for each search
