New Look Google?

Have google changed the look of the search results or have I done something my end, I now have a bar on the left with the words images, news, groups and more, before this was above, is anyone else seeing this?

Have you clicked the "Search" button at the top of IE? There is a hack that lets google take over the default IE search, and it looks just like yours does

No that's the thing, it was working fine earlier, then it changed, it's been normal a couple of times, now this horrid new look seems to be taking over all the time.

There are thousands of Google servers, some of which are running in various test and trial configurations. Sometimes you'll hit one at random that's configured quite differently, and then you won't see it again.

There's also a bit of code floating around on various sites that "forces" google to look like this. I remember seeing that jsut under a year ago now.

I;ve seen this pop up as well a couple of times - i think Paul's right there's a snippet that forces it to behave/look like this.

Thanks everyone, my Google appears to be back to normal now, I didn't do anything to my knowledge, two days later it's back to the normal look and I haven't seen that version sinse.
