Is it only particular datacentres that do this, as I've noticed it alot more over the last few days.
I know that google can track outgoing clicks without the use of extended get urls - but has anybody noticed today that all outgoing links from the natural results have extended tracking on them today?

im not seeing it at the moment but have before, one of those things that they switch on and off a lot
could be something, could be nothing
might just be a way to see how accurate their other JS tracking is?

Yeah could be. I just wondered if they count how many people that press the back button when they get to a site and use it to determine how relavent that site is for future searches using the same keywords?
Possibly, every now and again they show "what this site useful [yes] [no]" if you do that, clic ka link then go back - http://www.morleymouse.com/2006/12/1...s-link-useful/ so could be an automated extension of that
