How does someone become a Google AdWords Qualified Individual?

I have no PPC experience but wondered whether Google have a course that you have to follow to become a Google AdWords Qualified Individual. Seems to be logical if you can combine the two and go through a training course and become knowledgeable and qualified at the same time!

Oh, and how much does it cost and how long does it take?

It costs $50 to take the exam I believe.

They also give you free vouchers

I've done a bit f hunting and over at Google have listed the requirements https://adwords.google.com/support/s...12241&hl=en_GB of their program:

Run one AdWords account for at least 90 days
Spend at least £500 in the 90 days, and then £500 every month thereafter
Pass the exam (at $50 cost)

Not sure whether this has significant long term benefits but certainly worth considering after 3 months of AdWords membership.

The £500 every quarter is a way for Google to guarentee some income, is it not? An AdWords Qualified Company has to spend £50,000 every quarter. Ouch!

Not ouch if you are making double or triple that though!
