I ran an ad which was disallowed originally called "Harry Potter Wand" as they didn't like the term because it wasn't Harry Potter's exact wand and Google then allowed "Harry Potter Replica Wand" cos that's EXACTLY what the product is and how it is advertised on the merchant website and I've been using this for a few months......

Only for Google today to ban the use of the word Replica as it is against the Big G's policy to promote "Counterfeit or Replica Goods"!! WTF?

So now I have decided to use the term "Harry Potter Repro Wand". I wonder how long that will last.

As long as it takes the might algo to figure out that replica is synonmymous with repro.

But then you can use "reproduction", "fake", "lookalike", "non-genuine", "third-party", etc

I'm not sure what any of those qualifiers mean anyhow, given that even the "original" is a pretend wand - but it sounds like G know the difference.

Recently had exactly the same with "star wars lightsabres".

I couldn't find any real lightsabres so the "replica" was all I could offer.....

Must try harder to find the real thing in future!

I'll messenger the merchant later Bud and see if he can adjust the text on his website. The reason being that the long description supplied in the datafeed corresponds to the product and it can no longer be described as a replica according to Google and we don't get a low PPC if the advert fails to correspond with the long description.
