Nope, not at all.
Search for any swear word in Google and see the results...
Question for the SEO buffs, will Google penalise a site for having swear words?
One of my sites focuses on the Channel 4 programme, Peep Show. I have a quotes section on this site and of course, those that know the show, will understand that many of the funniest quotes have some foul language.
I launched this site at about the same time as a software site about a month ago and the software one seems to be climbing the ranks nicely while the Peep Show one is no where to be seen. The site structures are almost identical and both are in a fairly niche area.
Any ideas?
Steve

I f--king hope not!
urbandictionary.com is full of swearwords and usually ranks very well in Google. A good place to go if someone has baffled you with a bit of slang.
Never email donotemail@WeAreSpammers.com
And a search for f*** gives Googles bestest unrealliable buddy, Wiki as number 1![]()
Thank f**k, must be another reason for the disappearance, could just be in the sandbox for a bit. I'll keep trying.

What is the domain? We may be able to shed some light![]()
Peep Show DVD
It's very basic for now but just wanted to try to get some ranking while I work on a proper site.
Steve
Nice idea Steved!
Maybe your targeted search terms are more competitive than for your other site? Either way, 1 month is not long in Google Time.
The horribly inaccurate link: operator says you have no backlinks, but that doesn't necessarily mean you don't. Do you have enough backlinks, do you think?
You have around 1500 words in total on the entire website (excluding Privacy and Adverts), very few backlinks and proabably none that Google would 'trust' and the domain is only 4 weeks old.
I don't see a link to the Wordpress Blog you have from the main site, yet that seems to be the highest ranking page for 'peep show dvd'. On the blog you link to peepshowdvd.co.uk (no www) which is going to make Google thing there is a second site.
In short, mort content, more links, more time![]()
Cheers Guys. I'll keep plugging away.
Steve
Pretty sure they wouldn't penalise - we've got some underwear which the colour of it is called "s h i t" and no problems getting that listed.
