    Hi all,
    Most merchant websites face the duplicate content penalties by search engines due to identical product feeds and descriptions, now my question is;

    "Is it advisable to get links from non profit organizations to decrease the duplicate content effect ? "

    Those links will always do you good (provided they're relevant) - but they will effect your authority more than giving you a free pass on duplicate content. It's just a likely to go supplemental as any other site. You're better off finding ways to maximize the original content around the feed's duplicate material.

    As for getting links of Government bodies, my proudest moment was getting a legitimate and hand approved link of the Prime Minister's site for one of my Bingo sites. Just s a shame they went and nofollowed it not long after.
