I have a blog entry that gets a few search hits in google. When people click on the google links they link to my current blog fornt page - so the entry has dropped off it. The only way to get to it is google cache or navigate my archives.

Is there a way to help google to link to the article directly rather than my index.php page?

Hmmm, the 302 bug in full flow. Slightly confusing, since the proxy version should only be indexed if it's considered to be "higher quality" than the original

The proxy will be 'higher quality' if the proxy site enjoys a higher PR than your site. Have 6 or 8 proxy versions of your page around and you will soon struggle to find your page anywhere in the results.

As the proxy typically has more content than your site - that little toolbar at the top of the proxy page - your original page is seen as an 'extract' and not as something which has been cloned.

This proxy problem has been around for quite a few years. The solution is to block the IP address(es) of the offending proxy at server or router level. Once the IP address is blocked, visit the proxy and request your page with the Google toolbar active. The proxy will not be able to display your content in its page and the toolbar cache will 'tell' Google that your content is no longer part of the proxy site.

A very workable defence against a proxy attack on your site is to always use the base href tag for any page that uses relative urls. That stops all your site being given to the proxy.

If you think that you are suffering from a proxy clone, search Google using:
    +allintitle:"text in title" +"unique page text" -site:yourdomain.tld
and that will list all pages using your title and containing some text unique to you without any results from your site.

If you need more info, PM me.

Give it time and as long as the pages get spidered then it'll refresh the front page and go link to the other one instead. Common problem with blogs.
