Thanks for all the feedback... really helps and I guess reconfirms what I guess I knew... just didnt want to admit it to myself.![]()
I will also look into the Yahoo Dir Link but am trying to keep costs down at the beginning.
Thanks again!!
Hi Guys,
Anyone got any pointers for getting re-indexed. It seems to take me days if not weeks to get re-indexed and I dont understand why. I have added an XML Sitemap and uploaded that to Google (5 days ago) and nothing since, I have done the manual submission to google (5 days ago) and nothing. I have added the link to other sites just to try and help linkage and still nothing. I have checked the robots.txt and there is no reason for it not to index my site. Is there anything obvious that I could be missing out on? I read on here all the time about people being re-indexed in a day or less and I never am... it always takes an age...![]()
Any help or advice appreciated as I have done a load of SEO work on my site and now I would like to see it indexed so I can see how it fares on the good ship Google.
Thanks all,
Chris

I would second what kungfu said.
Why not digg your site, 2 today, 2 tomorrow..... you will get back up pretty quickly
What does 'digg' your site mean?
Thanks Guys!! Been "digg"ing away!!
You're basically trying to give as much exposure of your link to Google as possible. The more times it sees you're link on other sites, the more chance it has of following it and indexing you're site.I am not sure about adding my link to my signature though
On bigger sites, Google visits them more frequently as the content changes faster and new content is added on a frequent basis. As a result, its going to come across your link faster than on smaller sites which aren't crawled as frequently.
Thanks! I have now added the link...![]()

Here are a few quick wins:
Get links from blogs in same subject area - Contact bloggers who write on same/similar subjct area and ask them for backlinks to site. This should happen naturally if the content is good enough
Delicious tagging - Create a few different Delicious accounts and then tag site links for key pages or news on your site
Squidoo.com - Create page on Squidoo based around something that is relevant to your site and include backlinks to important pages of the site (pages you want to get ranked)

Hope it helps....
