Really depends how good you are at it - if you're only average then probably £40-£100 a day, if you're really good anywhere up to £800-£1,000 a day.
I am coming to the end of my placement with KJ Beckett and have been offered a summer job doing SEO for a small business in guernsey. My question is.... how much to SEO consultants generally charge as I do not have the faintest idea!
He wants to employ me full time for 3 months so would I charge per day... per week??
Thanks guys,
Em![]()

Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.
If ignorance is bliss then some of the people I know must be orgasmic.
ok, so the norm is the charge by the day? even for a period of 3 months? It will only be my second year in SEO but I have had a very good tutor! so I would be in the £40-£100 bracket, hopefully nearer the £100!!![]()
Whilst I agree with drivetowin's guide prices, you may be best starting low to get the job on your CV - the experience (and hopefully good reference) will be worth so much more in the long run.
Minimum wage is £6 per hour, £50 per day. Uplift that by the amount you think the service you're going to provide is worth. Then consider the value of the service to your employer. Chances are that you'll settle on a figure somewhere in the middle of the two.
For an inexperienced SEO person, but one that could add value to my business, I'd happily pay £75-£100 per day. Think of it this way, if you could do 20+ links per day then at £100 per day that's <£5 per link per day. Just a thought.
ok, thanks guys thats great. I have an idea of what to suggest now when he asks how much I would charge!! He is currently employing an agency so I'm sure he will have a rough idea of what to expect. :tup
