We've seen a lot of keyword research tools in past from lot of services and
under a lot of brands but the best according to me was developed late Nov
2008 called search based keyword tool it was almost like a Adwords keyword
tool by Google initially but it changed a lot in couple of months with an
improvement in results.
The SBK tool generates keywords and gives ideas on keywords that are to be
used on landing pages which are much relevant to your website.
SKtool
Based on your URLs, the SBK tool displays relevant keyword searches made
previously on that website on .com or .co.uk search engines. You can find a
list of relevant keywords which are more specific to your website. Overall
a brilliant tool in the pocket of SEO's.
What is your favourite keyword research tool and why?

thank you for your great info, it's really helpful
I've never stick with any particular keyword tool. I keep on playing with number of keyword tools. The results vary from one tool to another.

Wordtracker , it can give you some fairly good data until you get to very small niche phrases at which time it loses it's usefulness. And Overture as its results tend to be highly skewed due to automated searches.
googles adwords keyword tool is my fav mainly due to the thesaurus results at the bottom which are invaluable

tip: dont e-order the listings by hits keep them listed by relevancy to get the best out of your optimisation efforts.
The google tools are definately good for doing some background research - hopefully over time we'll see them becoming a lot more accurate. I still think its good to compare the information with other providers such as hitwise though which is seen as being a rather authoritive research source for traffic data information... like Bill, the external/adwords tool is still my first port of call.
On a side note there seems to be an increasing amount of 1 post spam on this forum just for the purposes of generating a backlink! :td
hitwize is AWESOME however the reports are mucho-expensivo, but if you have 4 or 5 grand to throw at great analytics then go for it
tip: call them and ask them for a demo, set up a screen recorder and go through some sample reports as part of your demo ***sneaky*** lol
Thanks evry one for posting your comments i really appreciate that exept for those who needs backlinks:td

Thanks for sharing the information....
i like use nichebotclassic..it easy to use..
and it free..
A great free way to actually check out keywords are on freekeywords.wordtracker.com. This will tell you how many people per day is searching for a particular keyword or phrase. A really good way to track this is compare the info you find in freekeywords.wordtracker.com with the info you find in g trends(google trends).
I like the free seobook keyword tool - gives msn, yahoo and google search results (daily searches I think) separately and aggregrated, plus links to a host of other useful places to check if you're doing research on your keywords. I should say that the results are for US searches not UK, but I find that if I simply want to generate keyword ideas it is a good place to start.
