Can some one please offer me some seo advice please?

I’ve been building a new site for a few days now, and i intend to build it and just leave it to see what happens with it in the serps.
Even though it’s not close to being finished I published a few pages so I could use some online seo tools.

The site is still a bit rough around the edges and I’m not 100% happy with the text etc yet, the links that work are on the left side navigation the top 4 networks Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile, O2 any advice or tips would be gratefully accepted.

    The url is www.pre-pay-as-you-go .co.uk

    Hi!

First thing... I think the site actually looks really great from a design perspective and seo looks good. Not sure if you have done the below as I dont have much time to check but will write out what I think you should do:

    (1) Put affiliate links as "nofollow"
    (2) I would make the phone images as a deeplink into the product description. You want to let them find out more without clicking BUY NOW which appears the only option. (IMHO)
    (3) Dont underestimate backlinks... start building these now as its a LONG road.

    Thanks!

    Thanks for the reply clayton.

For the affiliate links i was thinking of using a Redirect Script for Affiliate links with PHP, i did a search on the forum last night and found a link to this blog AFFILIATE CITIZEN Redirect Script for Affiliate Sites in PHP

I hadnt considered using nofollow but ill look into it.

When I originally built the home page I did put in the description for each handset, but it took the on page word count to something close to 2000 and the page size to over 46k. Until I can find away of getting the content from an external source I can’t do it, i have included the descriptions for handsets on the network pages though.

I have the option of adding a few links to other related sites i own, but im going to add them incrementally as this is supposed to be the correct way to do it.

I've set up a separate URL using a wordpress plugin (folder name /go/) which points to a redirect which in turn loads the affiliate URL. Within the robots.txt I've restricted access using /go/* - will this suffice in achieving the same as the nofollow? ie bot's won't follow?

    thanks, D
