Good rankings with Affilistore sites?

Hi everyone,

I have a couple of sites using the Affilistore script and I have spent a lot of time and money building backlinks for them. One ranks well for pretty competitive keyword on UK MSN and gets plenty of long tail traffic from Google, Yahoo and MSN too.

The problem is I can't seem to get the rankings for the main keyword on Yahoo or Google and I'm not even in the top 500 sites on either. Do the search engines not like thin affiliate stores like mine?

I've got an Affilistore site that is ranked 1 in Yahoo for my single keyword and is also top of google and MSN for the plural of the keyword (possibly as it is like that in the URL). I've only got 5 backlinks so I don't think Affilistore gets penalized, as such. Maybe it requires just a little tweaking or perhaps even time will improve things.

I am trying to rank one site for the term "lcd tv" and another which is a much younger site for the less competitive term "rugs" but am not having a lot of luck.

Admitedly I may have gone a bit overboard with some of my forum link building with the LCD TV site which I think might have had a negative impact on the rankings. Still gets some traffic (around 1500 uniques in Jan). I have perhaps 10 or so news articles up on the site but don't add them regularly at all.

I think I am going to try one thing at a time to try and determine what, if anything, I can do. First off I'll try and add a new page of unique content a couple of times a week for a while and see if that helps.

Oh and don't give up on the .org.uk's as I have a few sites that rank very well with such domains.

I seem to rank well for mid to low comp terms using Affilistore...

but I do have extensive content alongside in the pages & news.

One thing I have noticed...It does not like feeds with over 10k items me old kungfumobbies....

CANCEL THAT. It is mine host not the script. There is a set restriction on the kb uploads.

That's likely to be a hosting problem rather than an AffiliStore script restriction.

great work mate...now to try and split the categories from the LARGE feed.
