Hi all
Good to see some conversation and debate around the objectives of the council. I'm personally very pleased with the progress and the commitment of the council and its members and beleive that the output is of real benefit to the affiliate marketing industry.
I do however just want to clarify a couple of things regarding how councils at the IAB work and a bit of housekeeping on who can attend. Generally IAB councils are for the exclusive use of IAB members only. However after listening to the IAB members who sit on the Affiliate Marketing Council we're happy to make a couple of exceptions to this rule - as such
affiliates and
merchants can attend the council as non members and with no obligation to join the IAB. I only ask that if people want to attend that they let me know they're coming (preferably by email
dan@iabuk.net) so I can manage numbers.
Agencies and networks can attend the council
only as IAB members. I don't want to go on and on about how the IAB is funded but we are a
non for profit organisation and rely on our membership fees to enable us to do the work we do, such as run councils, run free events and workshops and publish industry guides. If you are an agency or network and wish to attend then you will need to join up first.
If you want more details on this then please do let me know.
thanks all
