Does any one have any tips for getting accepted on the Ebay Partner Network?

I recently applied, but was denied, with no reason given, and I wondered if there was anybody who has successfully re-applied and what you did to be accepted.

    Hi Andrew,

We are the agency that manages the eBay Partner Network (EPN) and we will be able to assist and advise you with any problems you may have with your application.

The EPN team here consists of Chris Worthy and Matt Holden, if you can PM me your email address and phone number I will pass this onto them with the request they get in touch when they return to the office on Tuesday.

    Best regards.

I have been having the same problem. I have tried with many different niche websites, over six times and no luck. I have given up now. Our Current site is making enough with adsence.

I got accepted on my third application. I think you need to include a detailed business plan on how you intend to promote Ebay. The ironic thing is once you are accepted you can put an ebay link onto any of your websites. Apply with your strongest website with a detailed business plan and go from there.

I have been trying to sign up to this programme for ages! it is a joke! they are far too bothered about what I am going to do on the programme and won't let me just do it! They treat everyone like they want to do something wrong. All i wanted to do was use them to plug a hole in a site to help monetise it with some high value items. It is in an industry where items sell for £700+ and it can be hard to find merchants... Oh well Amazon it is then. Well done eBay. Your loss.

I wouldn't worry too much. I've had Ebay on my site since the 10th June - about 12 days and in that time i've directed 504 clicks. This has earned me £22.00 !!. Whereas 504 Adsense clicks would earn me around £200. And with Amazon my conversion rate is between 7% and 10%. But for every item that I sell on Amazon I only get £7.00. £7.00 seems to be the maximum - regardless of how much the item is sold for, I.e a £2,000 TV would get me the same commission as a £200 Humax Foxsat HDR. I've still got Ebay on one of my sites but I'm testing it at the moment. Only time will tell if it's worth it.

thanks! Maybe i will add some more adsense! eBay would be a good fit but, unlike what they may think, it is not the be all and end all. Not worth getting worked up about. like i said before, it is their loss!

    Hi guys,

I now help manage the eBay programme here at R.O.EY and I can confirm that this is good advice!

eBay are very focused on quality and prior to approval they really need to see where you, the affiliate, are adding value to both the user and eBay. If it's not apparent from your application then it's likely you will be declined.

If anyone would like to join the programme and is having difficulty, please do get in touch with a detailed overview of your planned activity for eBay via PM. I can then either pass this onto eBay with the request they review your application, or give you some feedback on where to make changes to make yourself suitable for the programme.

Also if you are already signed up and want some help/advice on how to earn more commissions - again get in touch with us and we'll see what we can do to help. It's what we're here for!

    Thanks,
    Rich

Try Adsense - remember to give each advert a channel name so that you can track which one performs better. Once you know which performs better then you need to make sure it is the first Adsense Advert that is crawled in the code. Google pay the highest amount for clicks with the first advert that is crawled. Good luck...

Just been reading the ebay affiliate forum and it is scary how many people (granted they are american mainly) get kicked off the network for seemingly no reason at all! probably more to it, but it seems to be done on a big scale! scary!

    Hi Mart,

Yes it is true that affiliates get removed from the eBay programme but yes there is more to it!

The reasons will be (in 99% of cases) for either low quality or outright fraud on the part of the affiliate. eBay have made huge investments in clearing up their network in the last couple of years and their focus is very much on working with quality publishers moving forward. This is in evidence with their Quality Click Pricing commission model which many (quality) affiliates are now benefitting from.

But if you are on the programme and have concerns about this please contact either myself or anyone at R.O.EYE and we can give you some further advice/assistance.

    Cheers,
    Rich
