Problem with many affiliate programs with the networks is that they tend to either close down or slash their commission just when we've started to make money with them. And that is not just small companies, we're talking about the likes of Woolworths.

BlackStar, WHSmith, Amazon's affiliate programs - all indys - have been around for years. The likes of BlackStar and Amazon take their affiliate program seriously. (I won't mention WHSmith. They make my blood pressure rise and there's a five hour waiting list at the A&E at my local hospital.)

I know affiliate managers with the networks who don't even know how their own affiliate programs work e.g. if deeplinking is possible.

Advertising.com have stopped and started theirs at TradeDoubler a few times. PriceRunner have reduced their commission a few times at TradeDoubler. Merchants similarly seem to start up at and quit DGM2 and CJ at a frightening pace.

All these changes @ the networks waste a lot of time for us affiliates.
