HMV

Anyone had any dealings with HMV and can rate them at all?

How do you sign up with them?

I can't find any info on their site, and a search of the web only comes up with an affiliate program for HMV Australia.

I spoke to some guy there Can't remember who if they had a program and they do for big partners (have to prove site stats). I told him 150,000 unique hits per month) didn;t say that a load of that wasnt targetted to HMV and he said send through details. I never did and now think about contacting them again.

Best is to pick up the phone although I dont have the number to hand, it was months agao when I first thought about them.

The best thing to do is to contact HMV by calling them. I have an affiliate program with them but certain criteria that exists is that you must have a site that is related to what they sell (in this case music, videos and DVDs). My site is a printed music shop that also sells software which is not in direct competition with what they sell. They also warn against sites that use affiliate banners as a means of "setting up shop" making affiliate banners your store.
In terms of fulfilling the requirement of having a large number of visitors to my site, I didn't have a problem with numbers. I have a small number of people who come to my store, but most of them purchase something. My store has only been up for just over a year so when I explained that they were all right with it. Unfortunately, I am in Canada so I do not have the phone number for your area if you are located in Europe. However, the best thing to do is definitely give them a phone call and explain why you want to have them as an affiliate. Hope that helps.
