  Kitbag

Anyone had any success with Kitbag?

I was one of their first ever affiliates back in 1999, but I didn't really know what I was doing at the time, and I earned nothing from them in the few weeks I had their banner on my site.

I've rejoined them and I thought it might be worth trying to sell some international football shirts for the world cup.

Do they pay on time?

How reliable are their stats?

What kind of conversion rate do Kitbag have?

I'm looking for an alternative to Umbro (on CJ), my EPC is only around $2, so if Kitbag are any better than that I'll switch my links.

I'd rate them pretty poor on conversion.
Stats are OK
I've accumulated about 50 quid over the last year or so & haven't bothered to look for payment yet - they certainly haven't offered!

I've emailed them many times for my login id and password.
No emails back.

Tried to set up a new account and they denied it cos 'I have an active one already'.

Yes I know that!

Given up on them now. Would be nice for the summer though, but would imagine most peeps have got their shirts and stuff already.

Hi JF
Used Kitbag for four months - stats down for over 2 months (OK now) - poor conversations and crap sales.
Real shame as the site is fast, easy to navigate and link to etc.
One day these merchants will learn !
Hard to find a good footy clothes retailer, extreme pie do well for me but they are more a "cool dude, surfer, boarder" sort of site.

Cheers
Aly

I had a couple of sales from Kitbag in the first week, but not as many as I'd hoped for.

Umbro (CJ) is OK, but they only have a small range of stuff.

My best performer in this area (by a long way) is Retro FC. They were chucked off Affiliate Window because they weren't validating sales. They're now with Perfilliate, and they pay regularly, and have good conversion rates.

If any of the big UK sports retailers set up an affiliate programme I'm sure they'd do well, there are loads of sports websites that would promote them.

These are my stats for Newitts and MandMsports on dgm2 .

mandmsports 4,000 clicks = 65 sales = £94.99
newitts = 3,000 clicks = 20 sales = £39.34

not impressive really but then there aren't many others.

And did you know that Kitbag are on a "single session" which is probably why earnings are so crap?

Hi,
I've started as Internet Marketing Manager at Kitbag.com, and I can certainly advise that the affiliate side is probably my biggest focus point at the moment.

Our Kitbag affiliate program is run under 3 networks - Affiliate Window, TradeDoubler and
Affiliate Future. Pull product feeds and imagery, banners and links are available within each network.

We've just bumped up the top tier commission on sales (26+ sales a month) from 10% to 12%, up to the end of the year, in order to incentivise affiliates. I've just launched a Kitbag affiliate blog, which I intend to be a central information point where I can inform potential and current affiliates of new offers, banners and creative as they become available.

We’ve also created a special area on the Kitbag site called The Kitbag Christmas Gifts Store. It's packed with lots of football, rugby and other sports gifts of all types, and designed to offer something for everyone.

New products will be added as stocks sell out, particularly in the Christmas offers category - which is sure to be a popular link for affiliates. Again, banners and creative for all the various categories are available on Affiliate Window, TradeDoubler and Affiliate Future networks. Alternatively, please see our Kitbag Christmas blog post for all creative and links.

There are 18 different Christmas categories to link to:

Football shirts
Christmas offers
Football boots
Kids football shirts
Retro shirts
Kids football boots
Stocking fillers
Headwear & scarves
Gifts under £20
Gifts under £30
Gifts under £40
Gifts over £51
Rugby jerseys
Astroturf trainers
Mens jackets and hoodies
Balls
Gifts for her
Bags

A full Kitbag RSS product feed is available here, and you can receive new affiliate blog updates using our Affiliate RSS feed.

Any questions, please contact me.

Regards
