  Search partner programs

Just wondering if people out there could share their thoughts on the various 'search partner' programs you can operate ie with overture, espotting, mirago etc.

Has anyone worked with more than one, if so what did you find made one better than the other? Do some of them - especially smaller ones such as mirago and 2cu.co.uk suffer from a lack of advertisers?

any thoughts would be appreciated.

Ive bee nrunning mirago for a month or so now and not had many problems with them. Im not sure what espott & overture pay but from what ive heard the bigger search partners although having more advertisers pay a smaller % to you. Mirago pay 40% which I don't think's bad.

User to use search2.co.uk who paid 50% but payment was always late and they don't seem to have enough advertisers to raise the bidding on keywords much above the minimum.

Espotting pay up to 60%.. it all depends on who you contact and what you can get.

I'd be interested in knowing what more about Overtures deal.. anyone got any contact info about it ?

Revenue shares are normally confidential so its never a good idea to disclose that kind of stuff however it is wise never to accept what is first offered.

Often PPC's will argue they are giving you search functionality for free, ie something that you didn't have before and try and convince you that 10% or 15% is a good deal. A certain well known PPC offered us 4% on that basis once when their average cpc was only about 5p.

Remember even if you are only making say £100 per day with PPC, if you have a yearly contract that will make the PPC a cool 36k+ in clicks. They could employ a new member of staff for that.

Shoot for 50-60% and if you settle on 40% thats not so bad when clicks are £1.00 and up. It also means that you are still making £ instead of pence if the bid prices ever fall which is always a danger.

On another note UK PPCs are starting to insist more strongly on providing UK only traffic so if your traffic flow is fairly diverse expect to have to do some geotargeting (ip filtering) and that can mean you don't make as much revenue as you might have thought if you have to drop 50% of your traffic.
