Has anyone heard what Amazon.co.uk are doing this quarter about Marketplace sales?

Last quarter we earned commission on them, but looking as yesterdays stats I sold dozens of marketplace items and earned no commission from them!

Also - has Amazon.co.uk mentioned about us selecting a commission structure for this quarter yet, i.e. tiered or classic, like they did last quarter?

I've had nothing from Amazon UK re this quarter's plans - the fact they are still tracking Marketplace sales is good, they at least know what we sold.

Amazon US are making big changes to their commission structures, so perhaps UK are doing the same and just haven't got round to announcing it yet.

Yes, I did get the email from Amazon.com last month detailing the changes they'll be making to their commission structure. Most of my business is with Amazon.co.uk, though.

I was just a bit more concerned when checking stats earlier today as I sold quite a few items but made no commission and everything I'd sold was listed with zero commission! I'd been used to making many hundreds per day in December, so it was a bit of a contrast!

Last quarter a few marketplace items went through with 0% commission, but they went back later and updated them to 2.5%, so hopefully they'll do the same this quarter.

I can't see any reason why they would be out of step with the US, they normally keep the same deal (or introduce new ideas a few months later)

I'm pretty sure i got an email from UK detailing new plans for this quarter, but as usual i can't find it- so perhaps i imagined it...too much booze at Christmas me thinks

The tiered structure was pretty cool, but also pretty pants depending on the website. For my sites which are pretty low traffic/subject specific there was no benefit in taking part (although i still got my 15% on some sales -woohoo!).

Whereas on another site i work for, it was fab as the traffic is pretty good - although the site missed out on the growth bonus by about 70 dispatched items...gutted

hopefully amazon uk will follow amazon.com in getting rid of capped commision for electrical products

Just checked through my inbox and deleted items folder (I really must fully delete them one day) and there's nothing from UK relating to this quarter, so it must have been your alcahol fueled imagination

Just checked my stats and I've got a marketplace item tracked with 0 commission and a normal item with 7.5% commission.

I'm not part of the .com program, but I think I heard that 7.5% was part of their new commission structure. Anyone got more details?

Edit: just found the post of terms on the .com associates board. not sure if the link will work for everyone, but is here [urlhttp://forums.prospero.com/n/mb/display.asp?webtag=am-assosanbd&msg=121.1[/url].

If they're following the terms that Rich has posted then it would indicate that we should still be getting 2.5% for Marketplace (or 5% if the direct clickthough applies).

I'm hoping that we'll get some sort of communication from UK next week as they should be fully open after the xmas / new year period.

[Edit]Just checked my stats a bit closer and I've got 7.5% on a product - must have come from an AWS link as I've not got any of the old style links left[/Edit]

Reading thru the .com forums it looks like the 0% on marketplace might be a UK bug and should be 2.5% (or 5% if directly linked). It also appears that amazon uk have tried to email commision details but have been unable to so far.

Basically, looks good if you don't just sell books (which I do - time to change!)

Never bothered reading those forums before as they've always seemed to US focussed.

Just found the following though from a post by an Amazon representative -

There was an unexpected delay in sending the Q1 compensation e-mail announcement to Associates in the U.K. and France programs who are eligible for growth target bonuses.
Based on that it looks like there's going to be bonuses this quarter again. Also on another message there was an indication that .COM associates could pick their compensation scheme from 5/2.

And Rich, if I was you I'd join the tiered scheme - you just need to get enough non-media items to make it out of the bottom (-20%) tier (think that was 1 item last time) and you'll be no worse off than on the classic scheme - and if you start to make bonuses the amounts will really start to add up. Last quarter my bonus payment was 40% of my basic commission.

There was an email to amazon.com affiliates a while back giving details of changes to the commission structure - but nothing has been sent to UK affiliates.

One of the changes was that the (nearly) impossible 15% commission was being replaced by a 7.5% payment that is more easily achieved - you get it on the item they clicked through on regardless of where they click afterwards.

Having hardly ever achieved 15% sales in the past (I think I'd only ever got one apart from things I bought myself) - it's nice to get one on the 3rd day of the new structure.

    Oh
I was starting to get loads of 15% thanks to Web Services
I see that the 7.5 % applies to DVDs, does it apply to all media as I have only seen it in DVDs and books this quarter?

Still showing 0% on Market place...
