I use it - no problems, does what it says. Not sure how many people have downloaded my version, although I get a fair amount of people visiting the landing page on my site promoting the toolbar as a way of blocking pop-ups. Statistics on downloads would be noce though.
Just taken down the link as I noticed that when I tried an affiliate link with target=_blank alexa produced the page opening as it saw it as a popup.
Might reconsider it soon

I used it last year and it totally wrecked my PC. It took a lot of effort on the part of a PC expert to rid it's components from my system. I may have just had an unfortunate experience but would never go near it again.
I don't expect to get a huge income from it. I guess if nothing else it will give my site a boost in Alexa as more visitors will have the toolbar.
Pity it doesn't provide any stats on number of downloads etc.
I've sent it out to the members of one of my sites so I'll see how it goes.
One problem is that the embedded AmazonID links seem to display $ and not £ even if you chose UK when installing.
You also need a new ID to attach it to any other site, and no download counter - downer - yes.
(The Alexa bar is also not as good as the google bar, very cpu intensive and slow getting data, be nice if they bought out a custom bar that embedded you adsense id MMmmm. )
Any Amazon pros out there tell me whether its more profitable to join the Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk Affiliate program when referring people to the .com for purchasing?
Not quite sure what if this is what you mean, but if you're referring them to the .com ste then you have to be a member of the .com affiliate program, you won't get commission to your .co.uk account.Originally posted by the-jigsaw.com

Those who can do, those who can't talk about it
Downer,
so to market the .com I will have to open a new account?
Ta
Yep, you basically need a separate account for each of the Amazon sites you choose to promote.
They all pay separately as well and .com pay you in US$ (not sure whether the others pay in local currency or $ - as I don't promote them).

It seems an OK idea, I just tried downloading it etc.
But why are all these things geared up to the US and not the UK as well?
It's a pity the commissions do not cover all amazon sites with affiliates having one affiliate ID for all amazon sites.
The same thing seems to be with Froogle, when are the UK going to be included?
Daniel
Just a thought on the US/UK thing but I believe the dollar is pretty low at the moment so it should be possible to get cheap things through Amazon.com.
Is this right or am I being optimisitc?![]()
The problem is most customers won't think like that they'll see the high level of shipping fee ($4.49 per shipment + $4.49 per item for books) and at how long it takes and won't bother.

Playing with other alexa tools
http://pages.alexa.com/associates/index.html
Most you can prime with your .com affiliate ID
Does anyone know if I use a Traffic Rank Button complete with my associate ID if someone browses alexa and ends up downloading the tool bar is that ID fixed asif I used a download alexa toolbar button with my ID?
I would download the toolbar to try but it is a pain to uninstall / install
