Affiliates to get commission on in-store sales
through Carpetright and Summit

Carpetright has launched a unique affiliate programme which rewards affiliates for in-store as well as
online sales.

By utilising bespoke tracking developed by retail marketing and e-commerce consultancy Summit Media, Carpetright is able to accurately-attribute in-store sales to the online activity which generated them. Originally installed into Carpetright’s highly-successful web site, the technology has now been extended
to the retailer’s new affiliate programme, recognising the value affiliates bring to generating online sales.

Dave Ayre, head of affiliates at Summit, says: “This is a true revolution in affiliate marketing that has only been made possible through the innovative thinking for which Summit is well-known.

“Attribution is vital to measuring the success of any online marketing activity and we’re now able to extend this to in-store sales, tracking them back to the online activity which originally generated them.

“For Carpetright affiliates this means they will be accurately rewarded for all their hard work; for Carpetright themselves it means the true value of affiliate marketing can finally be measured.”

Since its launch, the new Carpetright affiliate programme has attracted a large number of members,
including the UK’s number 1 discount site - Quidco.

James Cartlidge, senior account manager at Quidco, says: “The work Summit has done for Carpetright’s affiliate programme recognises the true value of affiliates. As instigators of a journey that can end in a
bricks and mortar store, measuring the true value of affiliates has often been difficult. Summit’s innovative solution enables Carpetright to recognise and reward affiliates accurately and fairly.”

Karen Botha, Head of Online at Carpetright, adds: “Accurate attribution is vital when allocating resources to online marketing activity, as it allows us to record the effectiveness of individual marketing channels. Our work with Summit makes these calculations possible for the first time.”

In December, Carpetright launches a new category – beds, the same reward model will apply as with existing categories.
