Hello A4Uers,

I just wanted to announce a music monetisation platform I built: mixeeba.fm. The jist: Monetise playlists, tracklist and charts with deep links to iTunes, Amazon and Juno Download by adding a small piece of JavaScript.

More detail:
The problem facing music-content publishers is a fragmented music-download market and a confusing affiliate scheme structure to go with it. Signing up to these schemes and adding links is a laborious task. Publishers currently have to:
  • Sign up to multiple affiliate schemes, not just for each store, but also for each territory that store operates in.
  • Find the deep-link for each track, down to the correct remix.
  • Direct a user click to each store accordingly, based on their territory.

Currently, most publishers make do with linking to the search results page of the most popular territory at the cost of user-experience and commission.

The solution posed by us (mixeeba.fm) is a small piece of JavaScript. Web pages with static track-lists, playlists or charts can now be monetised with deep-links to each major download store (as opposed to search results pages for each store). Each link is also geo-redirected, sending the visitor to the store native to them, e.g. Amazon DE for a German visitor, maximising conversion and commission. We also have an API for use by non-web based publishers, for example music-related iPhone apps wishing to link to iTunes.

Look forward to any feedback and opinions you have
Cheers!
