I had checked in the past that amazon in general didnt allow "incetivized" sales -or assosiates giving cashbacks to their users-.

The only time it allowed that it was a test that made with ebates.com and only this sites and amazon stated that noone should promoted cashback to users on amazon.

Nevertheless latelly i noticed that cashback/reward etc sites like themutual.net and other give rewards to their users on sales on amazon.co.uk....how do they do it? is it allowed? is it only for amazon.co.uk or for other amazon sites as well? -incl amazon.com-

would be interested in your feedback.

    Hi,

    I'll give you my thoughts.

It is difficult for mere mortals to use Amazon for cashback etc as the only way to know if the sale has come from someone is to give that person an amazon id tag (e.g 'myshop-21') in their url, and amazon don't give you many of these - when you start you only get 1.

I do know you can ask for more, but the maximum no. of ID tags you can have is 1,500 per account.

If anybody knows of another way of tracking individual sales by using a tracking id on amazon, I would also like to know.

The way most of the cashback schemes which give cashback on Amazon work (we dont offer cashback on Amazon ourselves) is to ask the punter to manually submit a claim by emailing in their receipt from Amazon, which I presume they then work manually against the Amazon commission report to work out how much cashback is due...

Personally I dont think the return is worth the effort (cashback is a lot of work anyway without adding burdens like this) and in any case, as you say, as far as I am aware it is contrary to Amazon's terms and conditions.
Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.

If ignorance is bliss then some of the people I know must be orgasmic.
