Fonetastic Mobile Feed Deep Link Problem

Just to note that the Fonetastic Mobile feed is a bit off. The Deeplink it produces in the CSV format isn't working. Its got the wrong numbers on the end of it.

Quick solution is to take the OUR_ID and attach it on the end of http://YOURNAME.fonetasticmobile.co....howphones.php/ and it should work as normal for time being.

Im sure they'll probably fix it quickly just thought id alert everyone.

Thanks for posting this fix. The reason for this is that there is work being carried out on the feeds - for some reason at the moment they're showing the same naming conventions as Mobileshop. We are working to fix it. You'll soon notice that the feeds will be much more usable, and should have some good info in, such as reduced line rental periods, total discount value etc. etc. Any feedback is appreciated. In the meantime, please bear with us as the changes are made.

I understand that none of this is much good if the deeplinks don't work...

Yeah the feeds are looking alright apart from that. Any way to include what you get in the pack or is that too much

Im busy working on the feeds atm so if you make any changes to the feed let me know and i'll take a look and give some feedback. The only thing I noticed is that on the CSV the rental is missing compared to the XML.

Another good one might be to have extra fields to carry extra_mins, extra_mins_period (months), extra_txts, extra_txts_period (months) then we can factor in the updates and do calculations etc on the info. Looking at it currently it would be hard to point out that for so many months you get this many extra minutes etc. We would have to just show the standard amount and say theres double minutes.

If there is a way to include the cashback etc then we can do stuff with that as well.

Basically the more information the merrier well as far as I am concerned Dunno bout everyone else?

What do you mean by "what you get in the pack"? You mean like free messages or accessories etc?

I'll get the rental added to the CSV - anything else?

No what I was meaning for in the pack is kit included in the box. It might include a free handsfree, or a PSP or a portable DVD

I don't know but I think that information would be valuable. It might be worth getting the feedback of others as well. Thats how I would feel though.

OK, thanks. Any other input is appreciated - the feeds for Mobileshop will be very similar.

The additional info column was left there for extra stuff, and this seems like a good place to put free PSP's etc. Let me sort it.

As for the cashback, that should be there, with the amount of free line rental etc. and the total saving value. Total cost of phone will be line rental x months - total cashback. Also there is the amount of free or reduced line rental.

It is there Gav my apologies. It might be better to give it its own column though. Then we can play with the numbers and do calculations on total savings stuff like that. You have to remember that I think ive seen some deals now which have cashback and a free gift. So if you already had cashback in a seperate column it wouldnt pose any extra problems. It also allows us to choose which key areas to highlight to consumers.

If you envisage more deals for free items such as ipods stuff like that it might be worth doing a free gift image field but then you start getting into lots of detail. These are obviously ideas which you can decide to include or not.

But make sure to make it easy for us by not including text with money valued fields. If you do the 200.00 cashback then we have to do more messing about with the data each time whereas if its a cashback field we know its cashback and should be a money value which we can work with.

There is a cashback field at the moment - what we can't do is a value for the number of half price line rental months. There are too many combinations.

We do have a column for the total value of the discount, and a column for the "headline offer" which gives details of any special offers, such as "12 Months half price Line Rental" or "7 Months half price Line Rental". In cases where there's no special offer as such, it will read "includes 100 Any Time cross network minutes" or whatever.

I don't think there will be that many free gifts to warrant incorporating a new field, but if this changes, then we'll add it in.

Any news on getting 'rental' added to that CSV yet? Just don't want to be messing about with the feed if its all going to change. Might switch to the XML actually.

just get the deep url working thatll keep us quite as we already know everything we need unless of course you change the feed again leave as it is and dont break it

I have not had the chance to look today but did you add contract length as a field. Its a bit of a pain having to get it out of the actual tariff title...
