Ive recently started writing articles and submitting them to directories, alls gone well so far but i have a question thats been bugging me since i started.

If i was to add an article ive written to my blog, site or twitter etc after ive submitted it to the article directories would it be seen as duplicate content?

No, duplicate content happens only to the same article on the same domain. If you submitted it to other article directories it will go smoothly. The only downside you might have is no 2 of these article appear on the same search results page.

But don't let this stop you, there are lots of search engines to rank to. Not only Google so it is appropriate to submit as many directories as possible.

    rubbish

dupe content is simply when a piece of content is replicated on 2 or more sites.

I find it's reasonably easy just to uniquely reword an article you have already written, so that's what I would do for your own site.

If i have a page with my own unique content, then I change the page url, would Google view this as duplicate content? For example, if I changed affiliates and the old affiliate's name appeared in the url.

I was just wondering if it had logged the old page, then seen another new page with the same content if that would be a problem.

    Thanks.

You see thats one of my gripes when i hear people talk about "unique content"
What makes content unique is not the order of the words but the benefit to the end user/reader, make it worth while reading and of interest, for an extra 20 mins work you could double the amount of links the content brings.

Use the content to drive traffic and more powerful links, dont just rewrite the same old crap 50 times.

@jamesg_73 if you use some sort of 302 or 301 redirect then it will be fine.

I don't know but doubt it, but if it is already indexed and drawing traffic then when you change a page url you should redirect it to the new url so you don't miss out.

linktank, I'm not rewriting the 'same old crap'. Simply asking if changing a url will have an adverse effect on Google rankings. The page would be the same. I realise it will have to get re-indexed, however, will it have the same positioning as the previous page?
