    Hi Everyone,

I have just re-launched my comparison site (www.easilycompare.co.uk) and would love to hear what you think of it?

Currently only the mobile section of the site live and I am working on launching other sections such as insurance etc...

Any tips on increasing traffic would be great also.

    Thanks,
    Fahim

to get traffic you need to work out whats makes your site different from the other 6000 of these sites.

Why would somebody come to your site? where would they find it?
Look at building some links and start trying to rank for some longtail in the serps

I think the name is reasonable. I would take a look at:

    Conversion Rate Optimisation

to learn how to make your site sell, and then I would focus heavily on your traffic generation strategy (perhaps before getting the site fully finished) as traffic is the be all and end all. How are you intending to get traffic at the moment?

Your page looks a bit off in Seamonkey too. Looks fine in Explorer and Firefox though. Also looks iffy on Safari too.

I'm put off by having to scroll across. Be better if it fitted a screen width.

Just a personal thing, but I would prefer a bit more colour and substance.

You say you're comparing but those featured on your front page simply go to the merchant. That's not comparing at all. If I went to a comparison site I would expect to click on the product I'm interested in and see a list of merchants with their prices, etc.

Thanks for the feedback. What screen resolution are you using? I decided to design the site with minimum 1024px width screen and above as this is the norm now. It was hard to fit all the info in the table if it was any smaller.

You are right about some of the links on the homepage going straight to the merchant. I need to make this clear and say something along the lines of... "check out the already compared deals..."

Thanks for the link - I had a quick look and will try to implement some of the recommendations.

Currently, I am slowly trying to build up a newsletter list and in additional was going to buy some keywords from google to generate traffic.

    thanks,

Sometimes it can be quite hard to get the site pixel-perfect in all the browsers.

Did the comparison table (an example here) look readable?

I did most of my testing in IE and FF to cover the majority of the users. I think as long as the site doesn't break and is functional in other browsers it should be ok.

Does anybody else have any thoughts on how many browsers to test on and how much time to spend fixing all the bugs?

The site is currently unranked in google.

Of course this will change once there is enough regular traffic coming through but I have heard that by having a link back to your site from a popular website can increase your page rank.

    Is this true?

My set up is 1024x768 and using FireFox. I can only see half of the right hand column. I would also like to see a bit of margin - the text is flush against the left margin

Still off the screen on the right side for me, so have to scroll across to see the final column

On the search results pages there seems to be no link to the merchant? I.e "buy now" sort of thing? Surely your missing a trick here?
