Almost affiliates earning 60-100% commission, so urs offer is 10%....check with CJ.. u can see plenty of affiliates. So try to raise the commission
Hi,
I am looking for advice please on getting good quality affiliates. I will get straight to the point as time is short....
I feel our program offers affiliates a good deal - 10% commission, monthly contact via newsletter, new creatives added frequently, and up to date datafeeds.
However, it is hard get new affiliates, and also get previously inactive affiliates to sit up and take notice. Does anyone have any good tips for me on how to best push ourselves? I understand that the market of products we are in will not be to everyones taste, but we are a credible, reputable company and feel that is expressed well by the quality of our services and website.
I try to offer a personal service, whereby we can help affiliates and welcome their suggestions, but the ones that respond with anything effective or even requests are few and far between.
Thanks![]()

Yes I'd like to hear of them too, in our field 10% is in no way a bad commission, especially considering we are by far the premier site around in that product sector... I'll just keep trying
Thanks
Hi,
We were working with you guys but decided to pull out when you added in restrictions on direct to merchant PPC last month.
Up until that point, I'd say that my view was that your conversion rate was ok (not spectacular, but not a disaster) but that most of the orders that we saw were on your lower priced items (under the £60 mark). I'd have thought that someone looking to build a site specifically aimed at giving more information on some of your products could be successful.
Maybe I'll try it myself when I get a few days free![]()
Bazza99, any tips for how I make the programme better for our affiliates then?
Thanks for your post as well, that was exactly the kind of thing that I like to hear about..

incentives
I think there are a number of things that you could do to improve the program - a few of the following might be a good starting point:
Incentives: particularly in the run-up to Christmas, maybe you could run a competition with prizes for the best new affiliate and the best performing affiliate. Or maybe have a prize draw with each affiliate sale giving one entry.
Top Sellers: What are your best selling products? You have quite a large range but affiliates are likely to produce the best results if they concentrate on pushing your best selling products.
Special Offers: Have you got any currently? Do you make affiliates aware when they are being made available.
Seasonal Changes: Are you expecting some products to sell particularly well in the coming months? If so, mention them in a newsletter to your affiliate.
USPs: Have you made affiliates aware of what makes your offering unique or why customers should shop with you? Free delivery? Great returns policy? Price match guarantee?
Conversion Rate: Any steps that you can take to improve the conversion rate will be of benefit to the business and will have a knock-on effect for affiliates, making your offering more attractive.
Personal Contact: You may have a few affiliates who are already generating most of your sales through this channel. Have you dropped them an email? Introduce yourself and ask for what they need from you to generate more sales. Ask if they have any suggestions too.
A simple personalised email might be enough to act as a reminder about what you have to offer. Most of us are probably dealing with dozens of retailers/merchants and we only have a limited amount of time available to us each day. Personally speaking, we try to concentrate our efforts on merchants who we have a good relationship with.
Just some ideas off the top of my head and I'm sure you're already doing plenty of them.
