    Hi everyone
I always considered myself to be relatively in the know regarding all the social media out and about. But after returning from pregnancy leave I get the feeling I have lost track. I know it is truly important within PR and marketing to get your head around Twitter etc –
Does anybody have a quick guide to all the mediums so I know which are important and which are old news.
Maybe an good article you found on this?
    It will be much appreciated
    C:blush

    Hi Chantel,

I think Twitter is massive at the moment - as far as I know you it allows you to network, blog, also promote your own services/sites.

Facebook is also still the biggest social network site out there, so that's a great way to find out more about whats out there etc.

What exactly are you looking for?? Are you looking for a base where you can promote what you do or are you looking to network with people/groups in the similar sector??

Facebook is a preety good Social media site. But for internet marketing purposes I think Twitter is still on the top of the list. If you could get many followers who are really active and interested in your niche market then you would have a greater chance of really converting those followers to actual consumers.
    :tup Good Luck!

We use Twitter and Facebook to try and interact with our customers more, and increase dialogue back and forth.

I use Facebook and Twitter.....I find Facebook much better for reaching customer or potential customers. Not too impressed with Twitter, I find most of the people that follow me tend to either be websites selling similar products, offer affiliates or spammers.

Try a Facebook page and/or group - I have one group with just over 7000 members and it's a great marketing tool for effective communication. Twitter is great for larger companies, or celebrities who have genuine followers and fans, but for the average affiliate website I'm not too sure.
