Just to let you know there's this tiny country in the Pacific which is giving away free domain names with the ending .tk:

www.tk

You can't register the names of Fortune 500 companies or really popular keywords for free, but the rest are up for grabs.

Not worth registering tonnes of them, however, because unless you send at least 30 visitors via the domain name in each 3 month period, you lose the domain name...

Also, you have to already have a Web site to send the whatever.tk name to.
