Hope someone can advise me about this -

Had a cold telesale call last week from Iomart internet promoting their rapidrank (www.rapidrank.com) se submission service. I mentioned that I am launching an online store for golf gifts and the guy gave me the pitch. After I'd wiped the floor with the newbie canvasser his manager came on and explained further.

The deal is you pay £200 set up plus £15 per month for 10 phrases. He claimed they guarantee to get top page rankings etc etc and that 96% of customers renew. He also went on about how they are spending fortunes with Yahoo and thats why they can offer such a good deal. There is no mention of Yahoo on their website and the t&cs dont guarantee anything really.

Would I be best of telling them to sling their hooks? Price wasn't an issue but I would prefer a recommendation.

The manager also pointed out today when he called me back that they could register golfing-gifts.net exclusively for me but he couldn't hold it for long. So I registered it myself anyway.

Help appreciated plus recommendations for SEO service. I have spoken to Rufus at AF and will be going with them but do need to put some SEO work in as well.

    Thanks

From their spiel on their Google service -

Our service takes account of this and generates a promotional website suitable to achieve the best rankings possible on Google.
Sounds very much like doorway pages to me.

I'd be very wary of anyone guaranteeing top ten positions and rapid results - 9 times out of 10 they'll be using dodgy SEO tactics and it would be you who pays the price if the SE took a dislike to whatever they do.

A friend sent me this url today, which offers the same thing for much less money

    http://www.google-me-top.biz/

Personally, I'm not going for it, because I fear this could backfire on me and anyway, I figure the key phrases would probably be things that people don't search much on anyway. Plus I'm broke.

OMG, please please dont pay someone to do your SEO for you.

You are gonna get nothing out of it!!!

The link worked fine for me, Mogga - I checked it by clicking on the link in your message - but I don't think you're really missing much.

Had a look at the SEO basics on the link above, got a bit of a problem though.

My pages are going to be dynamically created from a database, how this affect how a search engine sees my site? Or how can I get around this?

Have told rapid rank to kiss my ***. After reading the T&Cs, the guy had blatantly lied to me about their so called guarantee.
