    Hi,

I have just designed a new site and was looking for some feedback as to it being "SEO friendly"

    Site is called SpeedShopping

    Any comments greatly appreciated.

OK - when you ask about SEO friendly - can you tell me what search term exactly you are asking for this analasys.

I can look at the site and see right away that I have no idea what you have optomised for - so unles you have a specific term you are targeting you MAY not get very good results.

Just some points to concider - You have no H2 tag and only 3 alt comments on images.
Also other than shopping I see no other content - is this correct - or have I missed it?

    Hi Lea,

    Thanks for responding.

There is no real optimisation as such - i have <h1> tags - if the site is broad, I am looking to making the site available through a variety of keywords...are you saying I should consider optimising the home page with a niche keyword in mind?

    Thanks Ryan,

If they do come in I will change it (although the site is built from scratch, uses my own code and is structured different)...

How would you go about the SEO?

I also like your site - very professional!

I would have fewer offsite links on the homepage.

Maybe you could create an Amazon page etc. and
the link to Amazon would then go to amazon.html
which would contain a bit of blurb on Amazon,
some amazon products, and then links to the
    Amazon site.

That's what I'd do to improve SEO of your homepage,
but I have no 'data' to prove that this makes
    a difference.

    Just what I'd do...

I never actually said it was SEO friendly - I am asking for feedback or advise as to how to go about it - my main skill is web design but I have a keen interest in aff marketing, I have both a dynamic site (shopspree) and static site (Speed shopping) and so I am trying to see how different the fair as relatively new sites in the uk market.

Okay, two things have interested me in this thread. First in the post from Lea re the H2 tag. Is this given higher priority to H3 tags ?

    Secondly,
<quote>I would have fewer offsite links on the homepage.
    </quote>

mmmm, does this mean you should try to keep front page links to internal only ? Sorry to ask but I am just getting to grips with SEO and I have not read either of these two things before

Re the "fewer offsite links on homepage"

Don't know if this is SEO technique or not but I would think it's not very clever offering visitors to much opportunity to disappear before the have even walked through the shop door

Not much text on your flowers page. Unless you get alot of links to that page with 'flowers' in the anchor text then it probably won't rank too well.
