Should i change the description?, its supposed to mean the amount of incoming visits from that website.

Intially that's what I thought, but then I thought it might mean incoming links (as a device to boost pagerank).

One thing I would say about the site, and this might be a bit of an abstract comment, but what's the story? It might be an idea to try and personalise the site somewhat and 'humanisie' the project. Even adding a blog about the project, will give people more of a reason to link to you.

It's still early days though, and I guess you just wanted to get the thing up and running.

After users click participate send them to a screen thanking them for adding their site and have your link code on it so they have less excuse not to link back

Good gimmick, although some people might think its only Google that has PR10 and that you'll never actually reach your goal. Perhaps replicating the above type of info in some way will allay those kinds of reactions?

I think its a nice and interesting idea... although not sure if the number of referal links is perhaps the best measure... So if I have a site with 100,000 dynamically created pages and link to you on each page would that put me at the top of the referal list? How are you counting the number of referals to your site?

Yeah I think a blog might be nice as well.

Ive never used blogs before, but its a great idea and ill look into it and find out how to set one up.

A thankyou screen is needed like you say Keith, ill get that sorted.

Even sites with no pr could send traffic, and the 0 pr sites will probably get pr at a later date which will then help with my pr rankng.

The referals are only counted when a link is clicked from the participating site, so if they have links on all 100,000 pages wont really make any difference to the referal count.

Ill always be improving the site so all suggestions are being noted...

Im pretty sure the traffic will snowball, as soon as we get some decent referals then more people will join and then the more traffic will be sent out to the participating websites... the more traffic you send the higher up the list you will go and the more traffic you will receive....... bla bla bla.

God im boring arnt I !!!!

Cheers for the support renegade, yeah ill certainly be improving the site and making it more attractive to get the visitors coming back.. i just wanted to get it up and running as soon as possible to see what people thought about the idea.

I like the idea!

My only concern is that you'll have thousands of links with the same anchor text. Is there some way of encouraging people to use a range of link texts?

I know that you'll want to link highly for the phrase "page rank 10" but do people have any other options?

Also as the media thing kicks in you should have supporting content around your link that will pay in the ranking process, but the more variation the better.

Glad you like the idea.

Im not too concerned at the moment about the types of anchor text used as long it gets links, but it would be better if people used a variety of text to spread the natural search terms... ill have to mention all this in the blog (when its set up)

Media thing!, what type of media thing???

Well, I notice statcounter has a 10, http://www.statcounter.com/ all those counter link back must work a charm.

The only thing I'd be worried about is being penalised for participating in a traffic exchange system or a system just to boost PR.

Other than that I hope it all goes amazingly well.
