on how to best promote ourselves?

jemboutique is a quirky boutique selling independent designer labels. The most popular and well known of these include Tara Jarmon, Avoca, Nougat, Rutzou, SOS jeans and Hultquist jewellery. It also stocks less well known up and coming designers such as Language Los Angeles and Looking Glass. Many of these brands are exclusive to jemboutique in terms of the online market.

jemboutique is for busy girls who like nice stuff – stuff that’s a bit different from the high street norm. It’s for girls that want to be fashionable, without being fashion victims. There is a range of price points from every day ‘playing out’ clothes to more special ‘dressing up’ outfits.

The boutique offers a friendly one-to-one email service with queries being answered very promptly. There’s a choice of delivery options including next day for any fashion emergencies. All items go out pressed, gift wrapped and boxed in recyclable boxes. Returns are free.

Any help in promoting ourselves will be greatly appreciated ...

    Hello,

I like the look and feel of your site. I'll try to give what advice I can.

SEO: The meta tags on your front page (keywords & description) are empty, alot of search engines use the meta description in their listings and keywords are the search by which people will find your website.

On your product pages ie http://www.jemboutique.com/shopexd.asp?id=1655 again the meta tags need filling in. For the keywords tags use a precise, descriptive terms such as 'basic brown leather belt' and 'part two belt' seperated by commas. For the description tag just a short product description, including the phrases from the keyword tag.

Try to include these keywords in the product description also. It will help your placement in search engines as the keywords will be seen as relevant.

Other promotion: You could try writing some articles about fashion relevant to your target audience: easy ways to stay in style, putting together a capsule wardrobe, choosing styles to suit your body shape etc and submit them to article directories.

The articles, republished by other websites, will always include an about the author bit at the end with a link to your site. If the articles are informative and useful you should receive fair amount of visitors predisposed to trust your brand. Also all the backlinks from the articles will also have a positive effect on your search engine rankings.

I hope that's of some help

    Hi Windsor,

I agree that it is a nice looking site that certainly has potential.

This may be obvious (especially coming from me who may be biased), but are looking to add an affiliate programme as i couldn't see mention of one?

This will almost certainly improve your sales performance and general exposure to the market.

    Good luck with the site...

    Hi Dave

We carried out a bit of a "beauty parade" for affiliate programmes and decided upon POR (sorry).

I'm just trying to get things moving prior to them announcing the launch however any technical stuff (thanks user1635) is gratefully received.

    Thanks for your interest though.
