If a page was let go then what is the problem if someone else buys it?
yep I know that were others that have had the same penalty - ive watched the stats. However, I dont have a sutuation where most are performing as well as before. I dont have one page that was doing well performing well now. I doubt Im the only one.
If a page was let go then what is the problem if someone else buys it?
how do you know there are penalties for certain pages or is this just a guess? what i mean is there any way to check or is it just an assumption based on the drop in rankings???
well Im only going on my own pages that were top ranking pages in google that now arent appearing anywhere except msn and yahoo - and there are a few believe me.
Either the site is penalized or its not penalized... i can guarantee you its NOT penalized.
if certain pages are not ranking as they did before then those pages may be penalized, the only reason a certain page can be penalized is if that page has broke some guidlines such as duplicated content, hidden links, poor content, irrelevant content etc.. in that case the problem is with the page owner and not the site.
Dont forget the site has undergone a manual review from google which got it ranking back as it should, while they were reviewing it they may have decided to manually penalize some pages.

The statcounter.com stats are working again, but please note some data is missing so visitor counts are showing much less than they really are.

I don't see it as a problem - I think the original remark was jocular (that's how I took it anyway?).
The fact that the person cited doesn't bother to change the content might bother some - the fact that he or she has been too idle to swap the affiliate links has been to my benefit in this instance, but, this aside, he/she is outranking me with my own copy.
I let the page go however, so I can't moan.
Well, if your latest page has anything to go on then things are not going to get any better for you (very poor content)... besides that didn't i say no more travelodge pages for you and the other page owner involved in the recent travelodge page problems.
If people are blatently ignoring what i say, im going to have to put my foot down and start with some penalties myself such as account suspensions... this is not aimed purely at you but everyone who ignores my rules and decisions
The problem is people can just register new accounts, but don't forget I can stop existing pages from being renewed for suspended accounts.

errrr
I have one page on that topic unlike other owners I could mention.
I think google is still sorting things through on the site. I have some traffic for a old pagerank10 site which had not had traffic since sept last year, and made some nice sales.
My pages which have been strong since i started on pagerank10 have not returned. I am sure they will with time.
Google has been odd recently lots of people have mentioned traffic on pages they not have before etc see threads on this forum.

Again, is this me you are writing about? if so, please list the pages you believe I own!
I don't normally write on the forum, but feel that I need to reply to this thread.
I have been buying pages from Pagerank10 since they first started. I believe that both Lee and Vincent have a brilliant site for affiliates with no SEO experience. I know that there are affiliates out there that don't need their service, but I do! I wasn't very good at it at first but then in February my daughter bought a page, the page you are making reference to. She went about it in a totally different way than I had, she looked at the best performance from data provided by Affiliate Window, she looked to see if her folder name was unique. She didn't see that you had a similar folder name, but so what, it was competition!
Her page did very well, other than the hotel addresses, there was no copied content, she had thousands of keywords, which she updates with new words every day. Your page wasn't doing as well so you copied and pasted her page onto yours. We then have duplicate content on two pages. You have continued to copy, probably from other affiliate pages as well.
There is no way Pagerank10 is penalised, my stats are higher than usual. I believe that Google respect Pagerank10, it is moderated and kept clean. On Thursday night, I think Google knew that the site had a problem with adult links latched onto pages. I know as fact that Google did a manual check on all the pages, I was on the site at the time, I have Hitslink on all my pages. It was probably during that check that your page fell casualty to duplicate / copied content. The lesson is to write your own content!
Before you say that I copied your page, I have hard copies of the Copyscape data and can easily provide proof.

I have not copied content.
I have written all my pages from scratch, save listings which everyone copies from original websites and expired pages I have purchased - which is why most of my pages are within financial services, a sector I have worked in for over 20 years. Ideas are for imitating - everyone does it.
I could go on but I would deem it childish.
I have no intention of arguing on a public forum, it was that you left yourself open to comment. I wrote the truth and the people involved know that!
I think that you are childish and need to grow up! You need to go out of the playground and into the classroom. Whilst in the classroom, learn the meaning of the word 'respect' and then use what you have learnt, particuarly on this forum.
To the moderator of the forum:
Please accept my apologies for my outburst, I believe that this man should be stopped 'slagging off' ordinary hard working young people, just doing a days work for networks and other websites etc. Thanks.
