    Hi,
    This is my first website let alone first affiliate website so i'd be grateful if any of you could let me have your feelings on it:

    Find Top Flowers | Find the top deals from online flower retailers.

    Obviously i'm not really getting anywhere with the Google Page Rank at the moment but i have read most of the comments on here about how to get the best position. These changes are being implemented ASAP.
    Your thoughts would be most appreciated.
    Thanks
    Chris

    Hello & welcome,
    I wouldn't worry too much about pagerank at the moment but would be looking to learn as much as possible about ppc (if your budget allows) then concentrate on SEO while you have some ppc campaigns running and spend some time link building, taking time to do it correctly.
    You might also get some good results by having a couple of pages on Leeky's site and linking back to your's, at £2 for 60 days it's a cheap way to get your pages listed in the first 1-3 pages of google (assuming you do it right), Advertise your website online with our search engine friendly full page ads.
    Other than that I'm sure you will get some good advice from other members & I wish you luck.
    Stick with it and read as much as you can, it will pay off eventually.
    regards
    Kev

    As a bit of an incentive for you Chris I placed an ad on Lee's site at around 10pm last night and having checked on Google about 20 minuets ago its on page 4 from 9,620,000 results for some pretty big keywords, that has to be worth £10 of anyones money & I'm confident it will reach page 1.

    p.s Better just say that I'm not connected with Lee or pagerank10 in any way before I get a spanking
    regards
    Kev

    My site Anitaria seems to be fine with Good Page Ranking, but I have started to target most networks and similar sites for free affiliation. Most effective seem to be Topsites in your neiche.

    I would consider 'hiding' your affiliate links with a redirect script, this would allow you you to track which products your visitors are clicking

    Hi
    fastclick lite is quite a good free script and uses a mysql database ( PHP Scripts from FTRSoft.com ).
    Also use a 301 redirect to reduce the size of your link
    eg flowersdirect/link1 could be cloaked as yoursite.com/id?1 and redirected using yoursite.com/fastclick/link.php?1 by using a 301 redirect from yoursite.com/id to yoursite.com/fastclick/link.php (assuming you have mysql/cpanel etc).

    You could use this to maintain a central database of affiliate links using redirects from various sites eg
    yoursite1.com/id to datasite.com/fastclick/link.php -> affiliate link
    yoursite2.com/id to datasite.com/fastclick/link.php -> affiliate link

    this way both sites use the same database ... easier to administer

    there are probably easier ways ...

    Regards

    Hi,
    Thanks for your thoughts, i currently have approx. 1800 products in the database so it would take a while to generate a new link for each one.

    If your products are already in a database, then most of your work is already done.

    Just give each product a distinct id, then on your pages the 'buy' button would point to the redirect script with the relevant product id, i.e. findtopflowers.com/go.aspx?id=9 , the redirect script then gets the affiliate link (from the database) for product no. 9 and redirects to the affiliate link

    I use php with mysql, but yes you could do this with asp or ms sql.

    I don't have any knowledge of asp, but I am sure there are many on this forum who do?
