Best way to monetise Social Networking Site

Hello,

Here for a bit of help and information please. I am involved in a social networking site that has about 16000 unique logins a month and generating 500000 page impressions per month. Are user base is teens to young adults, male and female.

I want to know how to better monetise it. At the moment it is using Oxado with not much revenue coming in, can you please inform me as to what are the best ways to generate income, as in cpm, cpc, cpa, or any other method, and what we should be looking at to increase are revenue.

Sorry to hijack this thread, I too have a small amount of social networking traffic to a 'site', and I am looking for the easiest, quickest way to monetise this traffic, as I am expecting some coverage later on....the 'site' is not developed, and has not been touched for over a year, at the moment, I have a v basic wordpress blog set up, with about 3 posts. I think the wp is not even self hosted, but am unable to do anything whilst at work, so will be looking to get something up later on this evening....any thoughts on what I can do?

Alternatively, if anyone is interested in helping out with content, I am open to discuss some sort of rev share...

Traffic is now coming in from UK and US, with some French traffic expected later on

At the moment, I'm looking for good 'general' ideas, as the site is top level traffic (i.e. not really targeted, not a niche). Strange, but at the moment, I don't want to share the domain too publicly, as I do not want to influence thoughts on what to do - with the 'site' being so bare, there is opportunity to shape this, so would really appreciate your views.

Traffic is low, 200-300 U/v per month, expecting this to pick up a bit shortly due to some good quality back links being introduced.

Thoughts?

It's so frustrating being stuck at work, when I know I have things to do!!!

i wouldnt post the links as others will try to steal your idea and not help just look on net at diff affilite progs and direct the trafic to it untill u get one thats right for you

Hmm... I take the view that the best use of a social networking site is to introduce myself, let people can get to know me, give them access to a lot of a lot of value (free), and to form relationships and trust.

Therefore I don't sell on any of my Social network sites, rather I provide them with the opportunity to optin to my newsletter as a prerequisite to gaining a free lifetime account that provides more than 15 essential marketing tools that people must have to market successfully and make money online.

I'm a strong believer in to old mantra 'The Money's In The List', or more accurately 'The Money's In The Relationship You Have With Your List'

My attitude if 'give until it hurts'.

I try to focus on their needs, not mine, and avoid trying to sell on first exposure.

Seems to work OK. I haven't gone hungry yet :-)

johdue, let me have the URL for your site and I'll have a look at it and see if I can offer any suggestions. Without seeing it I have no idea why, esp with that many page views.

Ps. Can I ask why your signature is the way it is. It seems to be be a list of keywords rather than an enticing 'mini ad' that would lead interested people to click through to your site. I get quite a bit of traffic from my sig below, which I use on about six forums I contribute too.
