Did you read the previous reply to a problem about posting?

I agree the SAVE and SUBMIT buttons are not what everyone is used to, but you press SUBMIT not SAVE... unless you are talking about another problem what im not aware of, as usual you are being very vague Andrew lol

The 'SAVE is to save to drafts, the SUBMIT is to post.

Ive posted ok so im not aware of any other problems.

Well, that took some sorting out, you can post now, although im not sure if I have set the correct permissions.. I wouldn't be surprised if you all had admin access lol.

Please let me know if you think anything seems incorrect.

The forum seems fine but it is quite strange having a save button there

Any chance of changing that in the template?

I have had a quick look but cannot find anything obvious to remove it, I suppose it would be useful if you get interupted in the middle of a long post then you get the option to 'SAVE' it to drafts, then when you need to post it you simply press 'LOAD' or something like that.

I thought this idea was fantastic and would save me a big headache, but (yes there's always one isn't there!).......

I think I was among the first who applied to join up to this. I spent time setting it up and corresponding with Leeky on a few hiccups, although he was unable to clear up my problem with duplicate merchants.

So I was disappointed when I recently happened to come across this thread. Why? Because apparently they are apparently now charging for it but didn't inform those who had signed up.

OK, I admit that the subdomain I registered is still live - but were you ever going to inform me? What if I didn't see this thread at all? Is it really too much to ask to send an email to those who were told it was free when they registered? I was even corresponding with Leeky at the time this thread had started, yet he didn't inform me. OK, I haven't worked on the site for a couple of weeks due to other problems, but what if I have been working hard on it and didn't see this thread - presumably at some stage you would delete the sub-domain and I would've wasted all that time.

I was looking at working on it today (before I caught up with this thread) and noticed that there are a lot of vouchers that are on there that are actually out of date - they had an incorrect date of 31 aug 2009 instead of 31 aug 2008. There is no way for me to edit those vouchers. How many more are incorrect that I didn't notice?

    OK, rant over.

That's not very fair, I think as a sign of good faith that the people who signed up when it was free should be allowed to keep it for free as it's as if they signed up under false pretences. Maybe they wouldn't have paid for it had they'd known but they now feel they have no choice after they have put so much effort into it.

The only domains I have deleted of those which did not pay are the ones who didn't put any effort in at all apart from *maybe* activating the merchants (a couple of clicks of a button).

babrees, im aware of your domain and that you did put in some effert which is why your domain is still live, asking for payment from you was not priority and I certainly would not have deleted it without getting a reply from you confirming that you didnt think the domain was worth the money.

I can assure you that any domains which have been deleted were 100% not used and not paid for and were no loss what so ever to the affiliate who requested the sub domain name.

We have 2 top level domains which I haven't yet deleted even though I have asked for payment a couple of times without a reply, yes they are suspended (cannot login), but not deleted.

kylah16 - Im not aware which domain you applied for, but if it was deleted it was deleted because it was unused. You would have had a valid point saying you should have got it for free (even though it was in beta stage), but you cannot expect it for free if no effort was put in when you had the chance.... please correct me if im wrong.

    Hi Leeky,
I was just sympathising with Babrees plight, I didn't set a domain up or anything.

    oh ok lol :-)

I can see why Babrees is having a bit of a rant, but the facts are..

I have not asked her for any money
I have not deleted or suspended her domain
I may never have asked her for any money
If I did ask her for any money and she did not pay but she kept on using rhe domain I would have just turned a blind eye

... but now Babrees has let everyone know she has not paid and everyone else has paid I will have to ask her for money and give a deadline, otherwise everyone who has paid will want a refund.

Can I ask a question? How would it save you a headache? I thought that this was supposed to be a network, where everybody worked together. (Yes, there is always one, isn't there?)

I, also was amongst the first to join, in fact one of the beta testers. We all 'spent time' setting it up, I also corresponded with Lee with what you called 'hiccups' but I only ever found him to be helpful. The duplicate merchants are a fact of life due to some being with more than one network. I find it no problem on my site, I de-select the ones I don't want.

Give me a valid reason as to why it should be free. It is really, Lee has given Pagerank pages to match the cost of the sub-domain. Stand up anyone who didn't recover the cost of the pages you owned!

I have no comment on this point, it's quite obviously between yourself and Lee.

This is the quote that made my blood boil and prevoke a response. The codes are added by a lot of affiliates, it's in their own interest for it to be correct. I personally have added a great many codes, keywords, logos and whatever was needed. I take offence at the comment about the incorrect codes. In some cases there was no 'end date' the system required one, so I gave it 12 months, knowing the date can be changed should it be necessary.

There are lot of affiliates on the board who take a pride in their work, and it's thanks to Lee for providing the facility.

If there are any incorrect vouchers you should report them to me or in our forum, they can be removed in seconds, but as you have not contacted me in any way to let me know which ones they are I cannot do anything about it.

When we have made the network and merchant logins live then this will be come a thing of the past.

OK, perhaps I was a bit hasty and apologise for not simply taking my rant to Lee. I'd had a bad day, but then I suppose that's no real excuse.

Can I ask a question? How would it save you a headache? I thought that this was supposed to be a network, where everybody worked together. (Yes, there is always one, isn't there?)
I thought the whole point of this was to save time and effort in hunting down all the voucher codes from the dozens of different sources there are, and that we simply add vouchers when we come across them, if they have not already been added.

If I am incorrect in my assumption and we still have to go hunting every day through all the different sources and then check to see if somebody else has added it and if not ad it then, tbh, I might as well just carry on with my own script.

I also corresponded with Lee with what you called 'hiccups' but I only ever found him to be helpful. The duplicate merchants are a fact of life due to some being with more than one network. I find it no problem on my site, I de-select the ones I don't want.
First of all I have never said or intimated that Lee was anything but helpful. I know what a pain in the a***e I can be when I keep finding problems and bugs (and I warned Lee of that <G>).

You misunderstand my statement of duplicate merchants - there is some sort of glitch on my admin end that shows every single merchant twice in the drop down deselect box - nothing to do with being on more than one network. Lee was unable to fix it. I was not complaining about it, just mentioning the fact. And yes of course I am well aware of hiccups and bugs in any new system or script.

Give me a valid reason as to why it should be free.
As my "rant" says, I was disappointed that I had not been informed, and was concerned that after doing more work on the site and had not happened to see that they were now charging, that the site would simply have been deleted as Lee had mentioned. He now says that he would not have deleted it without first asking me - thank you for that Lee.

No need to take offence as they may not have been added by you! However, the fact remains that there are a number of codes that are still there, although they have expired, because of an incorrect date. I can fully understand that some merchants don't give an expire date and yes they are a big pain, and there were some that I weren't sure whether or not they were still valid (those concerned me too). But there were some that were pretty obvious they were supposed to be Aug. 2008. For instance one that actually said it in the description, another merchant has monthly codes so Sept and Aug were both on there, another was pretty obvious by the actual code. Mistakes happen, doG knows I make enough! But I have to admit that I am used to being in full control of my sites and not being able to correct them was a bummer to me.

Yes, and I apologise that I didn't. As I said earlier I was a grumpy ol' woman yesterday! Just went to get them for you but it looks as though you found them.
